Pelvic pain after an u/s

Hi,

I have been on Tamoxifen since Sept. '14 and on chemopause since August of the same year.

Last Tuesday went for an internal pelvic u/s and for a few days I was bloated and feeling this pressure on my pelvis area. I haven't heard about the results yet. Wondering if the u/s disturbed some of the lining. Anyone else experienced the same thing?

Thanks.

Lolis

I've had several pelvic U/Ss but never had this experience. I'm surprised your doctor hasn't called you since it's been almost a week. Maybe you can call to ask if the results are ready and could mention these symptoms. I'm no doctor but I don't think it's likely the U/S could disturb the lining; the internal wand only goes into the vagina (not the uterus, where they are checking the lining), and I don't think you can disturb lining from an external U/S. But again, I'm no doctor and have never experienced this. If you have persistent feelings of bloating in the pelvic area, your doc would probably want to know about that regardless. It does seem odd that it happened right after the U/S. I know waiting for test results can be nerve wracking. I hope you get good news and that your symptoms calm down.

    Thank you Peggy.

I have contacted my GP. But haven't heard yet. I know she has received the reports as I contacted the laboratory where I had the u/s done.

This is the first time I feel this discomfort and I have had my share of internal u/s. Even making some sweet sweet loving was painful 5 days after the u/s (and it didn't hurt when the wand was in).

hoping my GP will get back to me soon!!

    Thanks again for your reply.
