What is the rubbery piece they put on my lx scar?

I have no idea what the rubbery piece of gel they put on my scar is except they said my Dr ordered it and it is suppose to enhance the way the radiation is absorbed (???

    It is called a bolus and is usually used post mx.  But it is used to control the strength of the radiation.  Mimics skin and flesh for post mx women, but obviously, is used for post lumpectomies too.  Your radiologist has carefully and precisely configured the angle and strength of the radiation beam and this is a further tool to control the exact "hit" of radiation you receive in a particular spot.
