Still in pain

My surgery was Dec 11,2014 The pain obviously is less than when I first had surgery, but I'm still in pain from the chemo. I still have 13 treatments left, I go back tomorrow. I fell in the low percentage group where my symptoms feel worse, tomorrows cycle should be easier they say, but I'm very scared. I'm trying to stay positive but as you all know some days are easier than others.

JGuillory, I am so sorry you are struggling, and I am sorry for your diagnosis. So you have had surgery first, and have started chemo, with one treatment down? Sorry to make you repeat, just want to make sure I am with you. I know how hard chemo can be, are you having a lot of nausea? How often are your treatments, how much time between to recover a bit? I know it is hard, please rest as much as you can, drink tons and tons of water, and let that wonderful chemo do its stuff. It is your best friend right now, I tried to view it that way, instead of fighting it I embraced it, as it was saving my life. I had to have it or I would not make it, so anything else I could do, I could and would tolerate anything.. I hope the next rounds are easier. Please keep us posted and hugs to you.

I was diagnosed in October, Surgery was December 11,2014 I did a double mastectomy even thou the cancer was only in my right breast. I also carry the cancer gene. After the surgery I was relieve, I did both because 5 of my 15 Lymph nodes were positive (right breast). Immediately after surgery. I had the plastic surgeon put in my expanders. My total is 16 chemos, I had my 11th today!!!! This cycle is every Tuesday!!!! My symptoms:mild migraine, Fatigued, dry mouth, whole body achy, flu like, all bones hurt, knees are the worst. I drink so much water surprised I don't float away lol!!!!

I was diagnosed a year and a half ago with Inflammatory breast cancer. I had chemo first, this is standard for IBC, to shrink the cancer as much as possible. IBC spreads like cotton candy, and the chemo first makes surgery much more successful. I was blessed to be NED, no evidence of disease after surgery, and then topped it all off with 35 radiation treatments. I finished treatment one year ago, and I feel good. I still poop out after alot of activity, but that is prob just because I am so out of shape! My chemo hurt my bones sooo badly too, I know just what you are talking about. Keep up with your mouth care, do mild salt water and soda rinses every day, this helps with the dryness and keeps sores at bay. Once they start, they are miserable and can be the downward spiral for feeling worse. I kept a small container with a salt and soda powder mix at my kitchen sink, that made it easy to mix a spoonful in a glass, swish and spit and go!

I am 54 years old with two grown hippie sons that I adore and 2 granddaughters that are the breath of life....and my spouse David who helped me kick cancer and takes me out to dinner. Life is good. Hang in there, you are getting thru it!
