Tamoxifen and Lung Collapse?

hey folks,

I am new to this forum and a bit desperate for information. I had two lumpectomies last summer followed by radiation in September and tamoxifen starting in October. After taking tamoxifen, I immediately started experiencing changes in my menstrual cycle - much more blood over a very short time with severe cramps. Since the end of November, I have experienced three lung collapses each timed to the beginning of my period. I have undergone a series of hospitalizations and surgeries that we're extremely painful . Until now, my doctors have refused to consider whether the lung collapses could be tied to the BC and tamoxifen. So here is the rub - there is real evidence that tamoxifen can cause ovarian cysts or the development of endometrial tissue in some women. I have a minor history of both. It is also known that there is a rare condition called catamenial pneumothorax which is basically a lung collapse caused by menstruation (or sometimes cyst rupture). So if I am one of the rare folks who suffer from catamenial pneumothorax, isn't the tamoxifen increasing the likelihood of lung collapse recurrences? One of my doctors basically said that this is so rare that I couldn't possibly have it, but I am already in the rare category! So, my question for the forum....has anyone experienced a lung collapse while on tamoxifen or heard of someone who has? I cant be the only one!
