Pregnant while on Tamoxifen

Hi Ladies,

I need major help. I am a recent breast cancer survivor and have been on Tamoxifen for the last 6 months. I just learned on Monday I am at least 4 weeks pregnant. My oncologist today suggested I terminate because of birth defects and cancer reoccurrence. Has anyone had this happen to them and actually still have a normal baby? I don't want to terminate. I'm very scared ...the oncologist actually told me I should be responsible for the child and not want to die which I thought was very unsympathetic. Please help!

Welcome to BCO, where you'll find others who have been through BC and Tamoxifen. Sorry you have to come here, but glad you found us.

You may want to talk with others but lateen who posted similar Pregnany and Tamoxifen has not been visiting for a long time. We hope others who have had similar problem will see your post and get back to you. It is a very difficult choice you face and we sympathise.
