Please recommend an intergative/naturopatic oncologist.
Hello everybody!
I have been reading the forum for the past three days. I am very interested in I3C / DIM alternatives to Tamoxifen. My sister is in remission now, she had a 2 cm lump no mets, ER+ PG+ HER2+, underwent mastectomy, chemo, herceptin. Now she's been on Tamoxifen for about 7 months. Loads of SEs she's been through every day (and night). SEs are not the only issue. We are conserned about the cargenogenic nature of the drug and the possible outcome in the future. Natural substances like DIM/I3C are NOT cargenogenic and if they do work to block the dangerous estrogen in the body (unstead of Tamoxifen), that would be fantastic.
She is now interested in having a second opinion from an integrative oncologist. We live in Norway, there are no integrative oncologists here. Her oncologist is very difficult to have an appointment with. She normally takes some tests and brings up this or that issue with her regular physician that is not experienced in cancer prevention at all.
They just put her on Tamoxifen for a period of 5 years. That's all. She even cannot have a chat with the oncologist if she has concerns, etc. It is a different healthcare system in here. Long waiting lines.
Ladies, those of you who are under care of integrative oncologists or naturopatic oncologists, could you please share some contact infformation of your doctors with us? Please PM me if it is not allowed to post it online. We would like to have one in order to figure out the best prevention plan possible. My sis is very scared that her cancer comes back. We can travel to the states if necessary but it should be possible to communicate with the doctor through emails as well, right? The price does not matter for us.
I checked for integrative doctors in google and found dr. Lawenda's website. I have no idea whether he is a good doctor or not-so-very-good when it comes to integrative/natural prevention. It is always great to hear a second opinion in addition to the main/orthodox oncologist.
I would really appreciate any contact info of the integrative doctors you're using. Thanks a lot. God bless!

I am seeing a licensed naturopathic physician in Connecticut who specializes in integrative cancer care. I see her for complementary care. Just started taking anastrozole and will begin radiation next week. My naturopath has prescribed supplements to help with side effects and to naturally combat the cancer. She is very knowledgeable and works very well with my medical oncologist so there are no contraindications. She also wrote a book called Naturopathic Integrative Oncology. Her name is Jody E. Noe MS, ND. www.drjodyenoe.com contact@nfhim.com 860-495-5688 Good luck to your sister and all of her wonderful family. She is blessed to have your support.

I no longer live in the area, but one of the top regions for cancer treatment is the Seattle WA area. This is the website for the clinic associated with Bastyr University, a naturopathic university, http://www.bastyrcenter.org/, and one of the best research centers is The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center https://www.fredhutch.org/. There is a wonderful Norwegian community in Seattle also! I hope your sister continues to be in remission. I have a recurrence of my breast cancer now and would not hesitate to travel back to Seattle if it were possible. Good luck.
