i just got home from meeting with oncologist. Turns out the pathologist totally screwed up my final post surgeryreport. He missed the fact that I had LVI present and measured my tumor incorrectly. Tumor is bigger than they thought. I am now stage 2a, not stage 1. I feel like i am grieving all over again.

How do i have confidence in any information that is given to me. This has just rocked me.

How the heck did they manage that and how was it figured out? I am so sorry - it totally sucks to be restaged. Initially I was told stage I and ended up being stage IIb. It is a shock all over again, but it will be ok I promise

So sorry for you both! That must be hard! I love my BS, but she told me initially that I was Stage 1, (which I ended up being after all was said and done); but, little did I know at the time, that she really had no idea what I was, when she told me...only what the biopsy, mammo and US read, which I know now, are not always accurate. She even went so far as to say, I can be cured! It's hard enough to have to deal with a BC DX; then, when you have to deal with those kinds of mistakes, I'm sure it makes it harder. I originally had Grade 3 on biopsy, then on final pathology, it was graded as a 2...So, I consider myself 2 1/2! I wish Dr's wouldn't give their patients (false) hope and then take it away. Best wishes ladies!
