Sutures or knots showing through skin

I am new here and have looked every where for answers. I have about 70 cc's of saline left in my expansion after my DM 8 weeks ago. My right breast was starting to show what looked like sutures below my horizontal scar a few weeks back. Last week when I went in, they were more concerned and told me to watch them. The PS thinks it is the knots of the sutures holding the matrix in place. He assured me they were dissolvable and would go away. They felt I could continue with the 70 cc's but my skin seems so thin. I'm worried and wonder if anyone else has experienced anything like this. Thx

Irisheyes, Hello and welcome! I am "bumping" your question to the top of the active list where hopefully someone can chime in. I have not had that particular issue, but I am sure someone else has and can share with you their experience. There are some active threads in the reconstruction boards with many knowledgeable sisters, you might try posting your question on one of them too. Hang in there!

I had "spitting sutures". Some of mine did not dissolve like they were supposed to, and my body forced them out through my skin. Very scary. However, they healed well after the fact.

On both my breasts the outer most suture is noticable to the touch.  I currently have expanders in and asked my plastic surgeon about them. She stated they are preeminent stitches to hold the aloderm in place. She said she may be able to remove the outer sutures when I swap for my implants if its all healed inside....id ask your PS about it and see what he/she can do!
