In preparation for my first meeting with a radiation oncologist on Monday, his assistant told me she would Fedex me some forms to complete in advance. They arrived today--within a glossy color brochure: "Smarter Radiation Oncology delivered by a team of caring professionals," with pictures of a beaming multi-cultural staff in white lab coats, and a sheet with information on the education and experience of the RO I'm to see--complete with a photo of him, also beaming away, and looking very dapper in a jacket and tie.

Seriously, WTF? It looks like the annual report for an up-and-coming biotechnology firm.

Me too! Clients/patients are almost entirely missing from this impressive piece of PR packaging, except for a prone figure almost entirely obscured by a white blanket, or perhaps a shroud, being positioned under some menacing-looking piece of equipment.
