All the waiting may drive me crazy....
Have seen my Dr., mammo and ultrasound, breast surgeon, another mammo and ultrasound, diagnostic radiologist, now waiting to see the high risk breast surgeon next week.... which will begin MORE waiting once she has ordered an MRI, which will determine if they will biopsy a mass that I first went to my primary for the end of January along with a few other symptoms in the same breast. I pride myself on having an abundance of patience, as the mother of 4 and giving dialysis treatment to 27 patients 3 times a week has given me all sorts of lessons in patience, stress control, and coping.... at the same time though this just seems to be about as much as I can take. I have no real question for anyone, just needed to rant and rave since I try not to rant and rave to family or co-workers. I have had dreams almost every single night for over a month now that I am being told I have breast cancer.... (sometimes by a Dr. sometimes by my mother who passed over a year ago from IBC.) So obviously the wait is getting to me more than I want to admit. Anyone else waiting around for months like me??

Yes, nbeck. I am waiting too. I had my annual mammogram the end of January. I was told that I needed to follow up on a suspicious area that we had been following for 2 years. Two biopsies, several ultrasounds and sets of lab results later. I saw my surgeon and oncology radiologist yesterday and finally learned that I am stage 1 IDC. Today I am waiting for a call from scheduling for a surgery to take place in about 2 weeks. After that I will wait another 2 weeks to learn if I will then be done, or if and which additional treatments need to be done. It seems like the diagnosis and treatments are very personalized and thorough. It does take some time, just keep moving forward. -
So sorry to hear of your diagnosis! I'm sure that your waiting is much more frustrating than mine, knowing now that you are waiting to get your fighting plans in order! That's the part that has gotten to me I think... it seems like waiting on top of more waiting. I work in the medical field so of all people I should know that these things take time but somehow it is still getting to me! I learned from my surgeon that d/t an insanely strong family history of very young breast cancer that from here on out even if everything comes out good with this mass I will be high risk and monitored twice a year, once a year with MRI. I guess I'm getting that "my breasts are a ticking time bomb feeling" after my conversation with him. I would love to hear updates on how you're doing when they get your treatment plan in order! Best of luck on your surgery!
