Blurry Vision during chemo??
Comments

Hello ,
I have been having very blurry vision and dry eyes since starting my AC treatment? My MO said he has heard this SE from other patients but did not have specific info on how long it lasts etc? Anyone out there have changes in your vision during/after Chemo treatments?
thank you.

hi there, I had blurry vision. It lasted until around a month after last chemo treatment. I bought cheater glasses at the dollar store, could not thread a needle, I'm a quilter so I needed to see close up. The cheaters worked great and they were cheap. Had my 3 month followup with oncologist, she suggested I get my eyes checked just in case but everything feels back to normal. My eyes were dry too but I used over the counter eye drops and that helped.

Target has some cute ones. They are called ICU and they are $9.99. They come in all strengths. Just bought a couple today.

I experienced blurry vision during AC and Taxol. It improved after about 4 weeks PFC of Taxol. My blurry vision did not get better but a little worse during Taxol along with the onset of dry eyes. With this said I was one of the "few" ladies that had a worse time on Taxol than AC. I had several eye exams during AC and Taxol treatments but the ophthalmologist will not give me a new prescription until at least 3 months PFC. He indicates this when the eyes should "settle" down. Hope this helps.

Welcome to BCO 2015kbca. We have heard of others complaining of SE of blurred vision, so you are definitely not alone. We hope it is only temporary and wears off after AC is finished.

My eyes (and nose) ran like a turned on spigot a lot of the time during A/C and Taxol. Didn't have any blurriness though. In the years since I have had some eye issues though. About 1 1/2 yrs after Chemo I developed cataracts, 1 1/2 yrs ago my right retina detached and left retina detached last June. From what I've been told it is very important to keep up with eye appts and if anything 'strange' happens to get to a Dr quickly as time can be very important with some issues - especially with retinas.

My vision changed somewhat and was blurry at times. Also continue to have teary eyes. My MO said both are side effects. I was on TC Regimen.

I started Taxol and Carboplatin at the beginning of December and by the end of December could not even work on my computer. I was also having headaches. I went to the eye doctor and my vision had changed so got new lens. Well, still having issues seeing but not up close but now watching tv it is blurry with my new lens. I was still having headaches so my ONC ordered a Brain MRI on my last day of chemo. It came back clear so now he said we just need to get everything out of my body and work thru it one thing at a time. I went from having no list of medications to two pages so hopefully now that I am done everything will clear up.

so glad that I’m not the only one with vision issues! It’s awful!

It's a reasonably common side effect. I waited over a year after chemo to get new glasses because my vision was blurry and the prescription would have been off.
