Lori, according to the morning news we are supposed to get back warmer weather early next week. Supposed to hi the 70s on Tuesday.

Patio paint. Thanks. Now I know what to look for. I am afraid my painting skills won't be very good but almost any color on them is better than the nothing they have faded to.

Ananda, that's actually kind of cute. I have looked at similiar ones before but not yet bought one. I do have one my DIL gave me that has a gun. I post him right behind my gnome holding a sign that says "Go Away." I also am well prepared because I have the book titled "When Gnomes Attack. " With the army I have there could be quite the devastation. LOL

We are expecting storms here so I am hoping the plants I put in the ground within the last week will do OK. Highs in the mid 80s so far this week and we are supposed to hit 92 on Sunday.

They've been calling for more rain here all week so I've put off watering my straw bales but can't wait any longer. Now that my bales are watered it'll pour today! I had lunch with 2 of the most important ladies in my life since my diagnosis. They are gardeners too and they told me our little town has a master gardeners club and Purdue offers the Master Gardener class. I may look into it but Pat told me to be very careful as the group is very particular as to who can join. I'm not sure I'd want to associate with people like that? Brecks has finally shipped my multiple blooming irises and Day lilies. I can't wait to get them in the ground!!

Well heck, if they are snobby then start your own group. If I were close I would join and we could call it MasterLess gardeners club and it would be for those of us who just love nature and watching things grow and want to share our experiences and advice. Oh wait...that's this place. :-) I admit I greatly greatly enjoy having this group to look to.

I'm sitting in my rocker drinking my coffee on the back deck and I keep seeing something flicker out of the corner of my eye but when I focus on it there's nothing there! So I start a stare down, it's on! Just after a minute or two I see these looong white paws and legs stretch out from a planter box I have up ended on the deck. It's Bob The Cat (stray that adopted me)! He's sleeping in my planter box and all I can see is one paw and the tip of his grey tail. Too funny! I snuck around and got a picture. If he knew I was there he would have run off.

Well I finally got the weed wacking done. Had to change the battery in the weed whacker halfway through. Had a surprise as I was heading back inside to change out the batteries, I came across a baby bunny in the grass. It was just laying there. Took a picture of it and sent it to hubby. He was surprised to see the bunny. The baby bunny looked to be about only 3-4 inches long. Will try to get a picture of the bunny up later.

Glad you saw the bunny and he didn't get harmed. As much as I don't like to share my garden produce with the rabbits, I do enjoy watching them in the yard.

By the way, here is my finished new shed. I still would like a teeny porch to step up on as it is a bit high for me to get into. Shutters might be nice too. :-)

I feel like a princess with a new castle. Hubby wanted the metal roof, so I went along with that.

Went to check on the bunny and it has gone into hiding at the moment. Hubby said he'll check to see if the bunny is out when he comes home, if I don't see it before then. Love having wildlife like bunnies, birds and squirrels come into my yard

Wenchie, A friend of mine just finished the Master Gardener's Class. It's a lot of work. She showed us the notebook they study from and it was at least 4 inches thick. And a lot of it is about where to look up stuff. That said, she's happy she did it AND looking forward to her extra time when finished.

Baby bunnies are left by their mothers almost all day long.  Mom comes back only to nurse which is very fast and then she goes away again.  Mom is somewhere close.  The bunny is probably fine.

I don't have any garden gnomes but I do have a garden lion.  Will that count?  I need to power wash the paint off him and repaint.  I don't care for the green.

HeidiBird - Love the MasterLess Garden Club comment. Love your new castle too. I'm jealous . . . but my time will come next year (hopefully).

The Master Gardeners club for our area is essentially a club a few towns from us. So the meetings and work performed is even further. Over the years I am aware of a few ladies in our town trying to be involved with this club but the distance is just to far. Regarding "snooty" members. I've generally found if you put a large group of people together you are bound to have a variety of personalities . . . and "snooty" tends to show up.

I like the idea of starting ones own group, possibly when I retire that might just be a thing to do. To those wanting to get involved in a Masters Gardener club, I wouldn't hesitate to at least try it.

I went out to check to see if I could find the bunny. Still no sign but I have a good feeling it's hiding under some bushes or in its den somewhere nearb

Ananda, indeed it can count. All garden/yard creatures welcome.

MOmmy, it's mama probably came back and scolded him for leaving the den so he went home.

I know my SIL loves the group she belongs too. because she is an avid hiker she is always giving them information about the wildflowers she sees upon the trails.

Gardennerd, think positively about that shed for sure. I wanted one last year but..it was the year of my diagnosis and treatment andsurgery and...well...I didn't do it. Now that I have come through that part of the journey it is time for me to fulfill some of the things I have wanted and saved for.

Wren, thank you for the info. I looked into time/subject of the MG class and I think I will pass for now.

I have to have my port flushed in the morning, so I think I will check out the Good Will stores for gnomes to set up my "gnome town".

Hubby got to see the bunny when he got home. It was sitting under one of my azalea bushes.

Heidibird, Your garden shed is charming. Will you be using the double doors for large equipment like a lawn tractor or wheel barrows?  Tell us more about it.

Gonna check on the bunny aka Hoppy this morning after it warms up a bit. I worry for the bunny as we have two neighbors that let their cats out and they like to walk right through my yard

I hope Hoppy is safe. I know cats are only doing what instinct tells them when they hunt but I try to tell the neighbor's cats they need to hunt elsewhere! I don't put out bird feeders, water, etc to make a cat buffet.

Ananda, nope, no mowers in my shed. DH has the shed for that. Mine will hold my gnomes that are not presently in use, my extra solar lights and my garden netting, row covers, and small supplies. Since all this talk of repainting I am very determined to put a table in the shed where I can, at some point, start to repaint the faded gnomes. Where I live in Oklahoma the wind blows almost constantly and it would be difficult to paint outside. So the shed may very well work for that. :-) Hubby says he will run electricity to the building in case I want to go out there at night.

Wench, all are welcome to the Masterless garden club. Come in and sit a spell! I am glad I am done with my port. It was placed rather high and I felt it when I would bend my neck down. The doc wanted to wait a few more months (which would have been about now) but she allowed it taken out in late January. Yeah! Even the port flushes would cause me anxiety. *gulp*

We had some strong storms last night so I am anxious to see what my garden plants look like when I get home this evening. Luckily we just had high winds and almost 2 inches of rain (yeah for rain!) and not the tornadoes and golfball to baseball sized hail some in the surrounding counties experienced.

I love all the baby bunnies I run into on my daily walk around the pond. Papa Goose #3 is missing, I can't find him anywhere! Mama is still on her nest and Papa never gets more than 20 yards away from her. The last time I saw him was late yesterday afternoon when Mama and Papa Goose #2 were visiting.
