Wild datura super bloom
-
Jazzy,
The lovely white bloom reminds me of a snowflake.
So far no heavy frost.
I took this wolly worm pic while weeding a flower bed.
People who believe woolly worms can predict the weather think that a narrow red-brown band means a harsh winter. The wider the red-brown band is, the milder the coming winter is supposed to be.
-
Teka- you are hopeful!
-
We had a heavy frost.
This pic was taken during our trip to SC. I love the leaves!
-
OMG those are gorgeous, Teka. Outside my work they had these beautiful elephant ears (?} and variegated NewGuinea impatiens. What a combo and very tropical looking just like those beauties. I would love to recreate that next summer.
I tired to get in the autumn spirit. A critter has already chewed a big holein this smallest pumpkin and eaten out the inside, The story of my life.

-
Is that tree in ABQ?
-
Wren- yes, it's a type of ash tree. Mine turns purple in the fall (turning right now) and not sure what type of ash this is but they do really well here. I saw it leaving the pool today and had to stop and take a pic as we usually get mostly yellows here in the fall.
-
We have a neighborhood here with streets lined with purple autumn ash trees. They have multiple colors at the same time. Really pretty. Maybe it's the same tree.
-
Wren - think so. Mine have looked like this in the past. This year going straight green to purple. Ash trees are very common in the west
-
TwoHobbies,
The critter will probably have the guts from the 3 pumpkins devoured before Thanksgiving.
Jazzy and Wren,
The ash trees must be lovely during the fall.

My last splash of fall color!
Maybe a hummingbird moth pic next summer.
-
I love the ash trees that turn all colors in the fall like that one! They are so beautiful with red orange yellow green all at the same time. Unfortunately we have emerald ash borer here in the midwest and it has destroyed the ash trees. I lost two but my sugar maple that replaced them is growing and pretty. Below is my sugar maple and my burning bush. The maple is about half turned.
Teka you got apples!
The squirrels have eaten the little pumpkin fully as of today. I sprayed the others witb febreze hoping it would change the scent/taste. .it was the only thing i had in a spray bottle besides bleach! We will see.
-
TwoHobbies,
Lovely pic!
Deer gobbled up the apples.
Our 1st snow of the season.
-
The heat this summer killed both my African violet and my Pothos plant. So my hubby bought me a new plant yesterday. I now have a Francis Ivy in the living room and will get a new Pothos plant probably next month for my kitchen.
-
Last of the fall color here. My red oak in full fall color
-
Stunning. And that blue sky in the background.
-
Us too.
-
-
Happy Thanksgiving All! We are having frosted apples
-
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Big snow storm here today
-
Does this count as gardening - the hummingbird was on our tree
-
Yes it does count. He must be cold 🥶

I make my own suet and we have a new little guy coming in - Anyone know what type of bird this is - young woodpecker? We normally have acorn woodpeckers, towhees, finches and chickadees. First for this one.
-
GMA- it looks like a flicker, but they usually have a red spot on the top of their head. I think it's a downey?
-
Beautiful photos ladies!! They make me feel peaceful. Thank you!
-
Crows warming up in the sun.
-
Happy holidays Teka!
-
Thank you Jazzy - I had such a fun photo shoot of birds that day. Teka - aren't birds fun to watch?
-
Now I have a Christmas Cactus!
