Has anyone done 14 rounds of Taxol

My friend has had 4 rounds of FEC for grade 3 early stage beast cancer. She has now started 12 rounds of Taxol weekly. The doctor said she is going so well he may do two more extra on the end. Has anyone else had this? Thanks. Have a great week.

Hi Lill, I sure am sorry about your friend's diagnosis. I had 8 rounds of taxol, but we all have different treatment plans, hopefully someone else will chime in soon. I can tell you are an awesome friend

I did 4 DD A/C neoadjuvant and then 12 weekly Taxol adjuvant. Then a week later started 25 rads. We are each unique and our Drs do not all think the same on TX plans. Plans are also different based on the he type of BC (DCIS/IDC/ILC/IBC).and the ER/PRor HER2 status.

thank you for your replies. There's so many variations and treatment plans. It seems no one is the same.

Lillp07 I'm in New Zealand and they usually only do 12 but occasionally they will extend out to 18. I'm Stage 4 and a bit of a test case. I've just had my 68th weekly Taxol and still going. Apparently that's a New Zealand record by a long way. It's a great chemo it really did a number on all my Mets and has kept me stable for nearly 18 months.

Glad to hear Taxol worked well for you. I've had four rounds of Cytoxan & Ellence & cancer markers are plummeting. Moving on to Taxol end of the month. Have been told that (besides the nail damage) the side effects are a lot less intrusive than what I've been through so far. How do you find it? Is life a lot more "normal"?

Karz for me anyway it's been a pretty good run. We have a thread weekly Taxol for Stage 4 that a few of us post on. It's got some great info on different side effects. A few of us have got good response from it. Hope to see you over there
