Hi, thanks so much for your support. Samantha has been experiencing small clots forming in her brain because of the blood being thicker from the cancer. They are installing a cranial pressure sensor and will use it to precisely administer IV medication to relieve the clots over the next few days. Although Samantha's condition is very precarious right now, the doctor believes the procedures themselves are minimally risky and that her age favors a positive outcome, although it will be a bit of a long road.
I know that she loves you very much, and that she's a tough cookie, and she is in the best of hands down here and up above.

Oh, gosh, Nathan. I am glad they have a hopeful solution. You are a wonderful husband
-
Thank you Nathan for keeping us informed. I had a PE (blood clot in the lungs) in May. That also was from the thicker blood of a cancer patient. I was in the hospital 3 days and now on a blood thinner pill I take twice a day. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Rabbit.

Thank you Nathan...sorry for blowing up her phone...thank you for keeping us posted!
-
What causes cancer patients blood to be thicker? Also, if we are more prone to blood clots would it maybe make sense for us to take a low dose aspirin every day?
-
Nathan, thank you for taking the time to update everyone here. I’m glad they have found a solution. My thoughts are with Rabbit and you
-
Cowgal,
You can do a quick google of this. One thing that I read was that bits of dead cancer cells clog up the blood, causing issues.

Hello again,
I'm very sad to tell you that Samantha passed away quickly and peacefully at about 4:45 this morning. She loves all of you very much, and I want to thank you for the support and comfort you have offered her for these last few years.

Oh Nathan, I'm beyond sad to hear that Samanthapassed away. You truly were her beloved and that fact came through in all her postings. She wouldn't have left you if she had a choice in the matter. I will deeply miss her spirit, her sense of humor, the way she cared about us all and always took the time to call us out by name and I will miss her honesty…her vulnerability. She was truly one of a kind and has forever left footprints on my heart. I am heartbroken but am better for having her in my life, The price of love is the grief we feel.
-
Nathan, I am so sorry. I know there are no words that can help at this time of devastating loss. Hold on to all the good memories that you and Samantha made over the years. She has touched many lives here and will not be forgotten. I wish you and your family peace and comfort.

Nathan my heart goes out to you and your family. I loved reading Rabbit's (Samantha's) posts. She brought humor to us. And she cared about all of her "virtual" friends. I appreciated that she would ask about me if she had not seen me post in a while. She was loved on here, and she will be sorely missed.
-
Nathan, I’m very sorry for you and all who loved Samantha. We didn’t know her “in real life” but she was a caring and uplifting person to us here on this board.

Nathan, Samantha loved you so deeply. I am so sorry for your loss. I follow her blog and she had such a wonderful Christmas with you. She loved big here on an anon discussion board so I can only imagine the love you felt with her in real life. May you, your friends and family find comfort in her memory and know she will never be forgotten. She had a deep faith so I will imagine her mowing the lawn up in heaven. I will buy irises today and plant some purple irises in my garden in honor of Samantha. Our sister.
-
Nathan so sorry for your loss. Samantha shared so much of her journey with us. She will be missed greatly.

Just a few days ago, Rabbit reached out to me personally, expressing concern because she hadn't seen me post in a bit, and she wanted to know if I was doing okay. We had a lovely and humorous exchange back and forth. She has helped me so much here and I love her. Thank you, Nathan, for letting us know that she has passed, and I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I feel lost this morning. It feels a little darker in the world right now. I'm going to go back later and re-read some of my favorite posts of hers. 💔

I am heartbroken and beyond sad to hear our sweet Samantha passed away. She cared about everyone in this forum, I always looking forward to read her posts and that she would call “stable mable"(the way she called scan results). She was loved here and will be missed sorely. Tonight I light a candle for her.Julia.
