I met with my PS this week. Originally I had planned to do round implants, but she told me that there are new anatomical implants that had literally just become FDA approved in a high profile. The profile was the main reason I was going with round (I wanted more upper pole fullness). Does anyone know about the new implants? She didn't tell me the name/brand & I didn't think at the time to ask. I was googling & it looks like Mentor memory shape.

Yes the new ones are a Mentor Ultra High Profile.  I will be having a revision in April and will be getting these.  I currently have the 800 HP Mentor and can't wait to see what the new ones will look like on me.  Good luck with your impending surgery!

I thought the ultra high were round implants? My doc said that there is a new high profile anatomical, teardrop implant that was just approved this year.

You may be thinking of the "gummies"?? I'm sure there is a more technical name for them ... i am considering them, myself, but am trying to learn more about them. I do understand that although they give a more "natural" shape, they are heavier, feel less "natural" (are harder??) and are trickier to secure from a surgical standpoint and are therefore more apt to move/shift (esp. if not well secured).

Allergan 410 cohesive gels felt the same weight and pretty similar in viscosity when I handled the samples my PS had in her office (silicone and cohesive gels). They were shaped more like a breast and opaque. There are specific TEs that should be used when you are want that style but I didn't know about that until I was being marked up for TE placement. My PS said she could still do them - just had to get them placed in there snugly. So far they are great. Mine are squishy and I love them

Thanks ladies. Yes, I was talking about gummies. I'll have to ask my PS for more clarification. I had looked at the 410's when first starting this journey, but decided against them for more projection. She just said there's a newer style in a high profile. I'll check out the other thread.

miscraw - could it be the Mentor CPG you are thinking of?  They are an anatomical fairly recently approved.  Here is a site that compares differing anatomicals.
