Hello Everyone,


I am just returning home from a core biopsy on a 6mm, suspected fibroadenoma.  


Last week the mass on the ultrasound  pics appeard as the typical oval-shaped fibro mass.  Today the bottom of the mass had irregular, shadowy, margins.  I only saw the pics after the biopsy was complete.


Would the biopsy  change the shape of the mass? She removed 3 samples so I'm  just curious if biospies make the mass appear different  after samples are taken.

    HI Dance_Mom,

    I can give you some info about my experience. I had calcifications in my breast which alerted the radiologist to do a biopsy. After the biopsy, he requested another mammogram which revealed all the calcifications were gone. That means that they were removed during the biopsy and sent for further testing. So I assume there will be some change to the mass also after the biopsy. I wish you the best of luck and hope your results are benign.
