Great photos! Thanks for sharing. Made my day!
-
Rough week starting with news spot on triple neg followed by migraine. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night feeling awful to make you fear the worst.
But days are getting longer and warmer. No matter what it will be better.
-
I really haven't the words to express my gratitude for this gift. We had such fun. Not only in the garden but in conversation. Endless topics and it felt so good to completely fulfill the BC sharing, and also get into other subjects of our lives. When the rain stops I'll post some pics of the amazing work they did.
Jack and especially Toots got a lot of attention. It was a very happy time that I will never forget.
Thanks to Sloth and KSusan for atrue mission of mercy.
-
I'm so glad you all got together! (and completely jealous that I couldn't go).
-
Me too Eileen. I wanted tea and limoncello
-
haha. There were some soft rumblings, schedules and weather permitting, of a bi-annual cleanup party. I hate to hope for too much. But these girls claim they like to weed!
And I am never without limoncello. I send visitors home with their own sample bottle to remind them of good times.
-
And we saw elk on the way home (thanks for the suggestion, Katy!). Yes, I like weeding, with the right company.
So everyone should visit Katy--she rocks!
-
Dropping in to say Hi!
What a fantastic meetup - you all look wonderful!! The visit sounded just amazing, wishing I lived closer.
T congrats on last herceptin! Did you ask for bone density scan or MD recommend?
I've been getting involved with !ocal cancer support agencies as a part of my new normal. One agency helps anyone touched by cancer. I take yoga there and just attended an international cooking class. One good part its all free. I also attend my local breast cancer support group, an amazing group of women. The speaker this month spoke on mindfulness and essential oils. I still have two herceptin and then port removal, hopefully be done end of April.
On the subject of the difficult teen years. This week a teen neighborhood boy committed suicide at our playground. I did not personally know them and my son was not friends with the boy. My husband and I had a long conversation with my son about how difficult life can be and he has many persons to turn to. I can not imagine the family's pain.
-
Maryellen, because I am 53 and have never had a bone density scan, the MO said I should get one. She wants to keep my bones strong because she said cancer has a harder time getting into stronger bones. Don't know if that's true or not, but I figure it can't hurt to make sure my bones are in good shape. I exercise quite a bit and walk 10-14 miles a week in addition to my bike rides, mainly for keeping my bones dense, so hopefully my hard work has paid off
Things are weird now that active treatment is over, I feel kind of cast adrift. I hated all the infusions, but it made me feel like something was being done. MO said go live your life, don't worry, let us do the worrying for you. But that is easier said than done.

Yay for the Oregonians meet up! Great pix - made me smile

What a great weekend! Now I just want to meet all of you- to Lake Arrowhead and beyond!!!!
KSusan, Katy, Jack and Tutti are as amazing in person as they are on this thread!
-
So wonderful to meet and spend time with you--Linda and Katy, and Jack and Tutti. All that plus chili plus limoncello plus weeding and pruning made for a wonderful weekend.
-
I will post photos of the "cleaned up" garden if it ever stops raining!
Love the elk photos! So glad you got to see them.
Jack misses you guys and Toots is in the guest bedroom awaiting Ksusan's return. Quite a love match forToots, I think,
Here is tired and depressed Jack:

So cool you all got to get together!

The weekend of June 10th for the lake? Major renovations are underway should be lovely weather-wise & new kitchen-wise. Folks can come early and stay with me and/or stay late at the lake or at my place - I'm pretty sure I am off the following week.
-
Love the pix of the get-together!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
looks like that June weekend can work for me!
-
ok here is the evidence of the unbelievable gift I was given from Sloth and Ksusan. Please note Ks got on her back, in the wet dirt, to prune the errant clumpy Japanese Maple into a much more elegant structure!

Hi, Everyone. I'm sorry that I haven't posted or updated in a while, but there has been a lot going on here. My legal separation from my husband went through on my cancerversary, and he officially relocated out-of-state this weekend. I don't know what the future holds, but I am working hard to come out of the very, very dark place that I have been in over the past few weeks.
I am all caught up on my reading from the past several weeks, and I am so happy to see the meet up pictures from Oregon. I am all in for the trip to Lake Arrowhead in June. Are any of you also going to the Glaciers National Park? I think that trying to plan trips and travel as often as possible is going to be one of my saving graces while I am waiting to see if my husband is willing to reconcile or wants to pursue a divorce. I have missed you all so much!
-
Oh, Lee. hugs. One million hugs. You are always welcome for a getaway here in Oregon. I'll try not to put a trowel in your hand! Maybe limoncello instead.
It must be so difficult on top of all you've already faced. We are here for you. Never forget that.
-
Thanks, Katy! I will take you up on that offer soon! I am hoping to plan a few trips out west if my budget allows.
Thursday is my chemoversary, and I am getting ready to get rid of my wig and my chemo scarves. Do any of you know someone who needs them? If not, I will post on the March 2016 board. Here are a few photos, but I think I have about six wraps, scarves, and caps total.
-
There's a good handful heading to Glacier. The discussion is taking place on Facebook or by PM more than on here. Give Littleblueflowers an electronic shout for details.

Hi Ladies, We've gotten quiet on this board, suddenly.
I love all the photos from your little get together ladies in Oregon. It had to be a great time to meet personally.
As for me, I had another exchange surgery yesterday morning. All went well and it was on time. I'm still a little dizzy from anesthesia so I decided to take it easy and not work today yet. All bandaged up, pain is under control, I'm scheduled to see the PS on Friday. No showers for me till then, stinky!
I also saw a urologist a few days ago. He's never heard of Mona Lisa procedure and he cannot imagine how burning the vagina would be good. I'm still going to ask my gynecologist when I see him in April. The urologist also gave me samples of a drug for incontinence. I didn't want to introduce anything new before surgery and I was going to start taking it today. Before taking the first pill I decided to check for drug interactions and I'm glad I did, as this new drug is a strong inhibitor of Tamoxifen. I figure I'd rather had a little leakage that risk a cancer re-occurrence. I may just ask the urologist if there are any other drugs playing nicely with Tamoxifen.
Hugs to all,
BB
-
BB- rest up and take care of yourself! (((BB)))
-
Be well! Good catch on the drug interaction.
-
Lee - I have a friend that is starting her chemo today AC-T. PM me if you still have wig and scarves available please!
Thanks,
Beka

Awesome, Bekah! Will do
