Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma followed by BC

Options

Hi. This is a thread for anyone who had lymphoma followed by BC. How common is this?

I found out last month that I had a second primary cancer, BC, only 2 years after I was diagnosed and treated for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. (I was shocked because I had started taking better care of myself. I would like to think that the condition could have been worse had I not started to watch what I eat. Fortunately, my lymph nodes were not impacted - and I would like to attribute that to the tea and exercises I do for lymphatic stimulation.)

I posted on a different thread, but saw yours today. I was diagnosed with breast cancer and follicular lymphoma at the same time in November, 2014.

I was also diagnosed with follicular lymphoma and breast cancer at the same time in October 2014.

The surgeon found my lymphoma quite by accident when she was performing the sentinel node biopsy. I am not being treated for it at this time.

I was diagnosed with stage I Hodgkin's lymphoma at 23 and again at 25. (It came back just outside the field of radiation).

Diagnosed with stage I IDC at 47.

Sure would like to hear more about your lymphatic stimulation exercises & tea, @Mirlat. I had a BMX one month ago.

    Thanks for starting this thread.

I was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma (accidentally) in April 2007. I was never treated and am on a "watch-and-wait" plan of care. In September of 2008 I was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer. Although there was lymph node involvement, it was BC not lymphoma.

I have not been told there is any connection between the two. Has anyone been told differently?

My wife is a childhood cancer survivor of Lymphoblastic Lymphoma
(Diagnosed in the mid 80's; today her Lymphoma is considered the same as "Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia"). 30+ years later, now Lobular bc.
    Her pathology is below.

I started a semi-relevant thread here: Breast Cancer Risk in Childhood Cancer Survivors, which discusses the connection between leukemia / lymphoma and breast cancer.
PM me if you want to exchange notes.

udpt82 - I was told there was no connection when my follicular lymphoma was discovered during my sentinel node biopsy. I am on the "watch-and-wait" plan, and am encouraged that you have not required treatment for so many years.
