Blood sugar testing for bilateral with SLNs?

I'm reading the lymphedema prevention guidelines here and elsewhere and can't find an answer to this: After a bilateral mastectomy with SLNs, if you're not supposed to do finger sticks or arm sticks, how is a diabetic supposed to test blood sugar?
