Stage I TNBC... Liver mets?

Hi everyone,

First of all I would like to apologise for my english as it´s not my first language. I'm amazed with how supportive this community is and hope someone can help me.

I was diagnosed with stage I/c TNBC back in september 2014 at age 30. I had a lumpectomy 10 days after the diagnosis (clear nodes), already finished 4 rounds of AC and am currently on my third round of weekly Taxol.

Before the surgery I had some CT scans. My lungs were clear, but there were 2 ''cyst like'' images on my liver that my doctor dismisssed as being ''nothing to worry about''. Since I was freaking out about it he asked for an MRI and when the results came back there were no signs of these 2 ''cysts''. The thing is: by the time I had the MRY I had already had 3 AC chemos.

Again my doctor says that it´s probably nothing, that the cancer was caught very early, and I honetly trust him, but why the lesions disappeared after chemo if they where cysts? Is it possible that the CT scan was wrong? I´m thinking these were mets!

I hate to say it, but at this point there is no way to know if they were mets or not.
The only way to know for sure, is if they would have been biopsied.
Usually, early stage women won't have follow up scans, but I would push to have regular scans ( once or twice a year) for at least the next couple of years.

Isabelle, I understand your state of mind but I would advise you not to worry and trust your oncologist. CT and MRI show things differently and there was a reason why your MO recommended MRI. I suppose your MO does regular blood work including liver panel and if your liver panel is close to normal and was close to normal before you started treatment I wouldn't worry. Just to clarify, you can have liver mets and have normal liver tests. All of mine were normal eventhough I had 2 large liver tumors, one that was 10 cm.
