what kind of recovery is after the implant exchange?

are there drains, limit to raising your arms, having to wear button down shirts etc? just wondering what it will be like after the exchange.

Just take it easy for a couple of days. No significant weight lifting and/or upper body exercise for 4-6 weeks - if I recall correctly. If you have full range of motion now it should not be impacted by the exchange surgery.

I think whether or not you have drains placed depends on how much pocket work they do.  My PS prepared me for the possibility of drains, but ultimately I did not have them following the surgery.  Recovery from the exchange surgery was very easy.  I generally felt fine by the next day and did some errands with my husband; he drove, of course.  Like others said, no heavy lifting & no working out, other than walking, for at least 4 weeks.  I also had to wear a compression garment for 4 weeks b/c the PS did some fat grafting during exchange surgery.
