Today's the day
Well, today's the day. Today is the day i meet with the BC specialist to review my biopsy report and have her discuss in depth what my next steps are. I received my diagnosis on Monday, over the phone, by my PCP....IDC, grade 3. Today I find out more. I'm terrified.

SpriteB, Hang in there. If you have someone to go with you, take them. Sometimes a second pair of ears and just another person being there with you is helpful. You have every reason to be terrified, but once you get more information and all of your testing is done, you will start to feel better. If you need meds for anxiety or insomnia, don't hesitate to ask your Dr. Stay away from Dr Google and check other threads here, for support. Best of luck moving forward.

How'd your meeting go?

Thanks for asking.
So much info to take in. Learned I was Er+ and Her2+ which is kinda freaking me out. There is a spot of interest on my other breast so I will undergo an MRI next but I hopeful It's just fibrocystic breast changes because it comes and goes with myPeriod (and was the original lump that I wanted checked out.) I met with a genetic counselor and had blood drawn as I'm only 37 with BC and no family history because I'm adopted. I need to decide between lumpectomy or mastectomy. I will undergo chemo because of the Her2+. I'm scared. But the BS seemed hopeful that I caught it early so I'm holding on to that hope.

Sprite, I think the days/weeks around diagnosis are the hardest ever. My heart goes out to you. You will be fine! 👍 the waiting is hard and the feelings so normal and understandable. You will make all the right choices... one foot in front of the other, as they say.

Sprite, I feel like I am in the same boat. I was diagnosed last Wednesday; the day after my biopsy. I have IDC stage 2 grade 3 as well as DCIS. I am waiting on results of the Her2 but I am ER+ and PR+. It is unbelievable at times but then reality comes, I hope you have good support from family and friends but if not, this is a good place for support and info. My BS said on Friday that we would start with surgery but that is on hold now because of a concern from the MRI. A suspicious lymph node that they now have to biopsy because my insurance won't pay for a PET scan. Anyway, I hope you have more answers and are doing okay.
