How common are fibroadenoma's...
I'm reading that fibroadenoma's are more common in woman under 30. I'm in my 40's and losing hope that this is what I have, even though the initial report said it was possible due to shape, etc. Radiologist said he didn't think it was a cyst. I had my biopsy this morning and now waiting… and scared to death. I have fibrocystic dense breasts., so they've always been lumpy certain times of the month, but if they aren't common in your 40's, there's only one other thing left.

Hi, I'm 37 and have several fibroadenomas diagnosed with the past few years. My mother also had fibroadenomas diagnosed up until age 49. I also had two more biopsies yesterday and I am waiting, too. Mothree try not and wind yourself up. 80% of biopsies come back benign. Waiting is excruciating, I know. Stay busy. I am trying not to go crazy. Im crossing my fingers for you!
Love,light and B9 results!!!

I've seen lots of women here going through testing who are older than "typical" fibroadenoma age, but still got new ones. Your hormones go nuts again as you near/go through perimenopause, so it makes sense to me. It would also make sense to me that as you start to lose some breast density that ones you might not have felt before would be palpable.

Thank you, Loveandlight1977 and MelissaDallas for trying to ease my mind. I'm trying so hard to stay busy but can't seem to stop worrying. I'm a wreck and every phone call scares me to death. I honestly don't know how I will handle things if it's bad news. It's so nice to have others who understand. Thank you!

The largest fibroadenoma I have read about was in a woman 43 years old. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12751688 Obviously its highly unusual for a fibroadenoma to be this big.
We all want to be ready for whatever is ahead for us. We all want to be prepared so we aren't surprised.
Waiting is awful. Hang in there.

It was a benign fibroadenoma!! Got my results today. So relieved! I pray that everyone who is waiting will receive benign results as well!!
