Recovery from excisional biopsy????
just curious what the recovery time is after an excisional biopsy. I realize it may vary from person to person and surgeon to surgeon. For those that had them, were you onany lifting restrictions afterwards?? How long?

Hi, You are right everyone is diferent but I found that it was 2 days for the soreness to go away. Are you going to a hospital to have it done?Generally, my excisional biopsy was by my nipple so maybe that's why it was sore. I was able to do day to day activites, but was restricted from push and pull activities. Please ask your doctor upon discharge what you can take or put on it for sorenes, pain and help speed up the healing. By the way, many of my biopsies were benign and in 80 percent of the cases that is true. I hope your results are benign.

just thinking ahead. Lol
My local doctor recommend excisional biopsy. I'm going up to larger hospital so will wait to see what they say.
I was sore for s couple days after the stereotactic one I had last year.
I just recently started training for a fitness competition so I'm curious if I'll need to miss more than a a couple days of working out.
Will have to wait and see I guess.
Always waiting waiting waiting

Hi, As an ex athlete and female fitness bodybuilder
No worries, your doctor will more than likely clear you to work out. Some people get foggy from the anesthesia. Always, get clearance from your doctor and follow his/her suggestions. I found it helpful to put on anti inflammatory med (tylenol, advil etc) clean bandage and a tight bra. Afterwards, I would shower, clean badage and shirt. You want to avoid infection and sweating can provoke infection. I really thought the sterotactic was more uncomfortable maybe because of the table and the being awake. I don't know but I preferred being knocked out and lying face up. I hope this biopsy doesn't slow you down. You have a lot to keep you busy and distracted while you wait. I would work out extra hard at the gym while waiting to take my biopsy and afterwards. It is a great stress reliever. Are you preparing your foods and putting them in the baggies and charting your designated body work out days? I remember those days and hating to do legs on Mondays and Wednesdays. lol My brother is an ex professional boxer and he is a certified trainer and focuses on training fitness people all the time. His wife won an over 40 fitness competition. She had an amazing transformation. She really proved that hard work and dedication pays off. I'll stop talking now. I hope your results are b9. You have big doings going on.

lol I actually love leg day!
This will be my first competition. (Ex-marathoner) The diet is the most challenging!! I'm preparing all my food and packing my meals daily. I do great all day and then struggle at night. Really dreading traveling for my consult Friday. Fly out 6:30 am and won't return until about 10. 😳
I'll certainly keep you posted! Thsnks for your input!

Wohoo!!! You must be a beast with those leg days. Good for you. Yes, I figured that you would be very busy and with a first competition there is nothing but work. No room for cheat days right now os get the cooler and pack those bags to go. I am an ex runner too. Listen, we are goal orientated people. Get a plan, keep your focus and make it over that finish line. Same thing with this biopsy crap. You have a plan, follow through on the procedure and you will deal with whatever comes your way. It's a runner's mindset. :P Positive thinking and keep speaking positive things to yourself. I'm looking forward to the updates.
