TRAM flap complications

Hello All:

My wife came home on Sunday after having a bilateral mastectomy with a TRAM flap reconstruction. Her left breast, seems to be doing okay. But on her right breast, some of the fat and tissue has died.

Also, she's still hasn't had a bowel movenent since her surgery.on the 19th.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Interesting postscript to the above story: My wife is back in the hospital. As it turns out, she has a massive infection.

We haven't even started radiation or chemo yet.......

She is gwtting a debridement on Tuesday, so fingers are crossed.
