I have been done with treatment for two years, and this silly tissue still stings at times. my skin is covered with many small veins especially under my breast and along side of breast. any ideas why this seems to flare up and becomes so sore at times?

It's been almost 5 yrs for me and it still stings occasionally in my armpit where I had the most burning. Also feels tight. I think I may have some truncal lymphedema mixed in there too. I will be following this thread to see if anybody else has the same issues.

Radiation as well as surgery can create chaos to our nerve endings in those areas. I am almost 10 years out and still get them.

Living, get it checked. I have had cellulitis twice in the last 2 years. I have a buddy at the gym with a partial leg amputation she had many years ago and still gets bouts of cellulitis. Stinging would to me mean infection or swelling so lymphedema seems to also be a viable diagnosis.

I had my annual radiation oncologist appt today and asked about the stinging under my arm where I had the most severe burning during radiation. I explained that it felt just like it did then, but comes and goes like a flare up of some sort. She said it was a very common complaint of patients that had radiation in the past. Just thought I would pass along the info.
