Slightly Scared

So I am in a bit of information overload from my surgeon. He was a wonderful man and explained a lot but it was exhausting and although he answered all my questions there were some I didn't even know to ask. I came home and plugged in my receptor information and ended up terrified. I am apparently double negative ( I think that's what the pathology said) and possibly her2 positive, but the doctor said this was faint and they can't be sure until they have a larger sample. I was okay at the office about this because I wasn't really sure what this meant. However after reading about it online I read that Her2 is aggressive and fast growing. I'm horribly frightened and unsure what to think. Is this a bad diagnosis. I was diagnosed with leukemia 5 years ago and thought I had paid my cancer dues. Apparently the toll man is asking for another 50 cents. lol. Anyway can someone kind of explain, in non doctor terms, what all this might mean. I will be getting a unilateral mastctomy and the other breast removed after possible chemo.

Hi, This is a great place for information, support and advice. It is a good thing that you are pleased with your surgeon because you will be spending a lot of time together.I only hear half of whatever is spoken to me when I go on medical appointments so now I bring a notebook with me. WebMD and google has caused me many a sleepless night. I can't give you advice on positives and receptors because I had a prophalytic mastectomy with a lymph node biopsy. I am hoping some of the experienced ladies can give you some insight and help.
