I read a few posts mentioning 'disposable' bras and how great they are during rads but couldn't really find a good description. What are they? Where do you get them? What are the benefits?

not sure but the bra I bought to use during rads ended up with blue ink on it so it went to the great beyond~~ the ink was from the markers the techs used to be sure they hit the right place  ( it was easier to see than the tattoos)

I used a real soft bra as skin got sensitive

I haven't seen anything about 'disposable bras' for rads. Nothing was worn above the waist during rads. We each had our own assigned keyed locker where we put our 'stuff' while doing rads. We also kept our 'Super Woman' cap and terry cloth robe to put onto head back to rads.

The biggest surprise to me was that there was no door across the entrance to the rads room. It was a huge round room with a door area that was about 8' wide X 8' tall. I asked about it and was told that because of the room's shape and what was in the rest of the walls/ceilings, ' nothing' could 'escape'. I

So suggestions for bra to wear for the duration of rads treatment would be basically as soft as you can find?

Soft, no hardware, like adjustment straps or underwires... and get a little larger so there is no binding. You will not have the support you need, but you will be comfortable. I wore my soft bras to bed too and that helped during rads to keep the girls from flopping all over the place. . Even now, I occasionally put on one of my rads bras on the weekend when I am lounging around the house.

I bought my bras at Target. They were no wire and had 3 hooks on the back and no other hardware. You might also try the Genie bra available at Walmart. Many women have given good reviews.

Good luck to you for no side effects and great comfort!
