I have 4 sleeves that I rotate, depending on what color I want to wear that day.  I have read that you should get new sleeves after 6 months, but am wondering since I rotate mine so much, if that is what I should do, or if they would last longer?  I'm going to ask my LE therapist when I see her next week, but I thought I would ask y'all about this too.

Do you religiously trade them in after 6 months?  Or do you wear them longer?

Thanks!!! glennie

I have three sets of sleeves/gauntlets, have been diagnosed with bi-lat, and wear bi-lat when I fly.  For daily use I only wear compression on the right as the left does not really swell.  For that reason, I rotate and have only replaced after a year.  Don't know if that is the right thing to do, but it seems to be working for me.  I had to pay out of pocket for the first three sets as the insurance department at the medical device company indicated my insurance company would not cover the sleeves/gauntlets - which seemed strange to me since they covered the LE PT, so I was in no hurry to replace them.  After talking to the person who handles referrals for my insurance she supplied a code to try, and received 100% payment from insurance directly to the medical device company for the next two sets - yay!

I get 2 new sets every 6 mths. When I get new ones, the older ones are rotated into my vehicles/tackle boxes/ tack boxes/etc.). Are they ideal - definitely NO but if 'something' happens and I need to do lots of 'stuff', I switch to the older ones and not worry about damaging/staining, my new daily garments.
