Ductal Intraepithelial neoplasia 2?

One week ago I had a mastectomy on my left breast due to stage II IDC. The day after my surgery, my surgeon came to see me and told me that she'd taken some facia because it looked suspicious and today I had my pre-op appt. I was kind of bummed because I couldn't have my drains removed but I was also told I have DIN2 in my breast and it was extensive. So..I have an appt with my radiologist on Wednesday and with my medical oncologist on Friday.

I'm thankful that I listened to my gut and went with the mastectomy instead of the lumpectomy because I would of been having a mastectomy this week anyway.

I'm not familiar with the term DIN2 from what I read it is DCIS (grade 2??? )(right?). If so the invasive is the more severe dx so the doc will likely treat it. While shocking I don't believe the DCIS finding makes your prognosis any different. Mine was found after the Mx too. It is a real kick in the teeth. Hang in there.
