Nipple Reconstruction experience

Hi! I had a prophylactic BMX this passed June due to a braca1 positive status. I had my exchange late Nov. I have an appointment for nipple reconstruction next week and i am nervous. I initially was going for only tatoos but I have changed my mind. Can you please share with me your thoughts and/or experience about nipple reconstruction. I plan to have the procedure done in the office. The docs take skin to form a nipple. I have been in the OR five times in the passed two years and would like to avoid going back in the OR if possible. I am also scared of complications. You never know with any procedure! There is always risk for complication! What are your thoughts?

I didn't have an MX, but reconstruction after radiation. My experience won't line up with yours as well as someone who has had an MX. I can't tell which of the many types of nipple reconstruction options you will get from your description. I chose to have a nipple created from remaining breast tissue. It was marginally successful, but as expected. It's very difficult to get good results from this procedure, especially when trying to match a natural nipple and areola. But certainly better than what was there before.

At least with BMX your nipples will match.
