Where to go for radiation therapy?

Options

How important is the doctor and hospital where you go for radiation therapy? I went for surgery 2.5 hours away. The doctors in my local suburb were not nearly as good as the doctors at the university hospital where I went. They carefully looked at my case and figured out I could have a lumpectomy whereas the local doctors said bilateral mastectomy. The university hospital has a house/hotel where I could live for six weeks four nights a week if I want to do radiation therapy there. It even includes three meals a day with fellow patients. The doctor there said that it is much better to go to a big center where there are many checks and balances and where there are oncologists who specialize in breasts only, and also where they have the team approach that they have been treating me with. I am only 40 so I want to make sure I get the best without consequences for my lungs way down the road. Do you think I should go to the university hospital? I don't want to be away from my home, family, and comforts for six weeks but do you think it makes a big difference where you go?
