Elevated CA19.9 with no apparent cause

Has anyone else had an elevated CA19.9, with no cause found? I recently had an oophorectomy, due to an ovarian mass; during the preop workup tumour markers were done and the CA19.9 came back very high (2000). The ovarian mass turned out to be benign, and since the surgery the CA19.9 has actually risen. I had had two recent CTs of pelvis/abdo/chest and a recent bone scan, all clear. I'm reluctant to have a PET scan given the high risk of false positives especially post op. I know that tumour markers are non-specific, and this tumour marker generally relates to other types of cancer eg pancreatic, but my level is awfully high. Has anyone else been in this situation? Of course I am worried that this might be an indication of early recurrence. Thank you!
