How many have Core than Excisional Biopsy??

I received my results regarding the core biopsy. The pathology report says:

"Sections are of an apparently well circumscribed lesion with stromal acute inflammation and dilated cystic spaces with apocrine and secretory change."

Doctor recommended an excisional biopsy scheduled for Jan 5th because pathology was "strange". He did say that I don't have the run of the mill IDC. I am just curious how many have had to have the excisional biopsy after the core and if you did can you please post your results? Is there still a chance for B9.

I am truly terrified of having surgery and being put under a general anesthetic. :(

This all started with a palpable lump, then comfirmed as a complex cyst by US measuring 12mm. The cyst ended up being partially cystic as they were able to drain some matter with the FNA but there was a residual mass that the Core was completed on.

I've only had core biopsies. You might think about a second opinion. Good luck!

I had a core biopsy that was benign but because of the birads 5 rating - they wanted to do the excisional biopsy as well. That was benign too!!! The surgery was easy - had it at 12 and was home by 3. Ice and pain meds through the night and ibuprofren the next day!! That was on Monday and besides some bruising - I am doing great! It is a relief knowing it is gone!!
