Annual Bone Scans?

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering whether any of you have bone scans every year? I'm four years out from diagnosis and have been getting them annually. This year my onc isn't encouraging me to have one because I have no symptoms of bone mets, no aches and pains. I'd love to not subject myself to the extra radiation from the scan, but I don't want to miss anything either. I hoped some of you might chime in with opinions or experiences? Thanks!

I have never had bone scans as part of my annual follow-up. My cancer centre doesn't recommend them unless you are, actually, experiencing worrisome symptoms.

Thanks for the input, SelenaWolf. I might hold off for now since I can always get one if anything worrisome pops up.

sorry to chime in... Haven't had bone scan since first diagnosed 6 years ago. Experiencing neck, back and hip pain. Gonna ask Onco for one when I see him in January. Not on AIs or any hormone treatment

no regular bone scans either...I've had 2 due to some pain issues (both clear) unless I have symptoms my MO does not scan.  I don't think I would want an annual one either
