Well a lumpectomy was a no brainer for me ...I would never consider having a mastectomy given that the outcomes were the same for survival.

thanks everyone. I hope all is going well. I am staying at hotels doing rads at the uni hospital. Getting pretty unhappy not being at home. Don't know what to do.

It must get to be pretty old living in hotels, not being able to readily visit friends, family, church, all one's usual haunts. I know when I attend conferences I start getting antsy pretty quickly. are there any interesting museums, libraries, etc., around that you haven't explored yet?

I wonder if the Uni hospital has either a yoga/pilates group for cancer pts or get togethers for those staying for treatment? maybe a wall-climbers support group for those who've been away from home too long?

How much longer do you have to go, OG?

oceangirl, where is the hospital at? There has to be someone nearby that would love to meet for coffee or dinner.

Thanks for your support. I'm SO happy to be home for the weekend! I'll be back in the city again for the weeknights, not looking forward to it. Will try an airbnb and see if that's more comfortable. Feels so unhealthy in a hotel with the cleaning solution smell, like I wake up gasping for fresh air. And you can't get any food that's not overly oily and salty. Plus it's exhausting going out in the traffic and cold every time you need a meal. And no water except chlorine tap water or plasticky bottled water. It's so unhealthy overall! Just when you need to be doing healthy things. Not to mention the hotels were full so I had to lug my bag around to a new one every night when i'm supposed to be taking it easy on my arm. Well, I got through one week of six! Was so exhausted after that, and the drive home. Thanks for the tips. Once I find a place that's more settled, I'm going to try to explore the city and do some fun things. I already did a few and that was nice. I hope you're all doing well x
