My left breast is much larger than my right breast. I have seen my doctor and have had a mammo and ultra sound of both breasts. The results came back as abnormal on the mammo with the results being micro calcifications and 1 cyst in each breast 1mm and 3mm. They also found 3 enlarged lymph nodes in the left breast. They also prescribed an antibiotic to try to relieve the enlarged breast and pain that is in the lower arm pit and rib cage area. However it has now been a month since the tests and medications. I still have a much larger breast on the left (which has never been) the pain is still there and they said the micro calcifications were probably benign. I am very concerned that they are missing something. No biopsy was done and they want another mammo in 6 months to watch for changes. I am wondering if they can miss cancer that may develop closer to the arm pit side of the breast. I have let the doctor know that the enlargement and pain is still there and it is bearable but is a constant pain. Does anyone know of something that may cause this or do I need to get another opinion or make sure they test something that have not.

Hi Tinalue, welcome to Breastcancer.org! We're sorry you're having such pain and worry, but we're glad you've found a great place for support and information.

You can always consider getting a second opinion with another specialist if that would be helpful to you and you feel there is still something wrong with that breast. Some tips for that in the article Getting a Second Opinion from our main site, designed to walk you through the process: how it might help you, what it typically involves, and how you can make sense of the results.

    Hope all goes well!
