Worried about recurrence

Options

I am part of a local support group and several of our member have recently been diagnosed with a recurrence. I have had chronic migraines, neuropathy, and hip problems since chemo. I have had unusual bone pain recently. I don't want to be a hypochondriac but don't want to miss a diagnosis either. I just moved to a new state and have not found a new oncologist. I had a follow up with my oncologist in June. I have had blood tests recently and an MRI on my back. I haven't had a PET scan since my diagnosis in 2011 (my insurance declined coverage for a PET scan this summer). I just don't know where to go from here.

    kricket,

Are you taking a AI or Tamoxifien? The guidelines of the ? ( never remember the acromyin ). ASCO....? ...states no scans, unless having horrific symptoms.

Did the ladies in your support group, have a local reoccurrence, or progress to stage 4 ?. Most of us have pain, especially after aggressive chemo & radiation. I also sometimes feel like a hypochondriac. My body feels like it has aged 10 years, in the last 18 months. I have recently started PT to get more range of motion in my shoulders.

I hope you find a new MO that you are comfortable with.

There is an older thread that discusses this, I just bumped it, so if you are looking it is called "ASCO Recommendations"...

If I knew how to link it I would, but I do not....
