I read the blog post below where the author comment about an article of the effect of light during sleep and tamoxifen resistance. The author of the blog post, breast cancer survivor and a MD Anderson professor, suggest that tamoxifen taken at night could be more effective.

I slept with a night light until I was 33 and since then always had a streetlight outside my bedroom window. Further to this I worked shifts for 10 years. Since I was first diagnosed in 2010 I have for periods not slept well and stayed up to all hours usually falling asleep in the living room with the light on. I started tamoxifen in March 2011 and developed lung mets Dec 2013 so it didnt work for me, I am now wondering if that is because I slept in the light. I now sleep with an eye mask.
