Hi. I had a BMx in January 2014. What is the typical exams after a BMx? I know mammograms are out. Do we have MRI s? Ultrasounds? I worry that a new cancer might go undetected. So far my appts have consisted of the bs feeling ... Like a self exam. I had DCIS and would NEVER have felt it as it was picked up on a mammogram as calcifications... No lump!!

good question. I'm curious what other ladies hve done. For me it's just as you described, a physical exam. Other healthcare professionals will always ask me if I have chest X-rays, even the nurse at the onc clinic, but they are never ordered or recommended. i hope others chime in too, because I'd loved on know what standard care is in this situation.

Labs & thorough physical exam- not just breasts. We talk about new complimentary treatments, diet, exercise etc. I stopped going to MD Anderson since my oncologist is serving time for poisoning her lover... *sigh*... Why is life always a big soap opera?

I had an ultrasound which confirmed what my onc thought.. a small fold in the bottom of my right implant which has now resolved.

Was on a 3 month schedule, now changed to every 6 months. Both oncologists felt the same about scans and CTC's (Tumor markers). Not relevant unless in a metastatic setting.
