Got a treatment plan today

I went for my breast MRI today and had a biopsy of my underarm lymph nodes. After the Radiologist walked the MRI to another building to review with my BS who I was seeing immediately after. BS was wonderful as was the radiologist. My IDC is also inflammatory (which I was afraid would be the case). Here is the treatment plan that the BS laid out:

1. Taxol/Carboplatin/Herceptin/Perjeta 6 cycles (every 3 weeks)

2. Masectomy

3. Radiation (daily m-f for 5 weeks)

4. Ongoing Hormonal treatment.

Next steps is to set up appt with oncologist, Have MUGA scan, get mediport placement, PET-CT scan. She even gave me a prescription for a "cranial prosthesis".

Things are moving fast, but I think that's good. Any thoughts?

Once again, my dx is IDC (Inflamatory) Her2+++ Grade 3 tumor 3.2cm.

So you have 2 types of BC?  Invasive/Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma and Inflammatory Breast Cancer.  It is unusual to have IDC and IBC at the same time.  Only between 1% -5% of all DXd  BCs are IBC.
