Question about sizing on pathology report

I had my lumpectomy last week and follow up with surgeon Tuesday. Thankfully the margins were clear! However, I'm a bit confused. The tumor was quite a bit larger than anticipated. I know from reading here that's not uncommon so I wasn't too shocked even though the surgeon was. However she told me that the area included ADH around the tumor and the pathologist counted it as part of the tumor. Has anyone else had this on their report? Is this normal? I'll ask my MO today but you ladies seem to know everything!
