Hi everyone ... I found out today that I will be getting my port-a-cath December 8, after the surgeon checks my lymph nodes. It's hard to find the words to describe the feelings as a lot of you already know. I have met my oncologist and next week he will have my treatment plan. He said there was going to be a lot of chemo, radiation, hormone therapy, and then surgery. At least I get a free wig !

Hi Sophie! I am getting my port on December 4th, so I am in this with you. I was given my Rx for my "Cranial Appliance" (wig). My surgeon said that I could go before I lost my hair so that they could match it up to my color and style. I said that why would I want what I have now when I could go the route of Marilyn Monroe or Charro! Seriously, you are not alone. I am scared too, but we can do this! Sending hugs! Joy

Hi Rosiesgirl, I hope your day was a good one. I got my voucher for my wig too. I told the surgeon and oncologist I was going to get an auburn red one ...I have salt and pepper colored hair now. I always wondered what I would look like as a redhead. Thought it would go with my green eyes. They laughed. How are your nerves doing ? Mine are like a rollar coaster. I still wish someone would tell me this is all just a bad dream.
