I have been reading posts on and off since 2001. 13 years ago first mastectomy with invasive cancer, 2 lymph nodes, stage 2b, grade 3. Hormone receptor positive (herceptin not tested then) followed by tamoxifin for 2 years and aromasin for 9 years. Had a bicuspid aortic valve which needed replacement - had that done in Jan. 2014. Now I just had a mastectomy on the other side - new cancer. Also invasive, 2 lymph nodes, grade 3. Only this time it wasn't hormone receptor positive but triple negative!! 2.8 cm and aggressive. I am 69 years old, retired a little over 2 years and need I tell you was hoping to have a wonderful retirement. No way! Am facing chemo and radiation and triple negative breast cancer and I am not happy. Am curious if anyone out there has had a similar situation and how the cancer was treated and which drugs they were given for chemo and how well (or not) they managed.
