Hello

I am just looking for some advise, I had a lumpectomy back in June of this year, it was believed I had 1 Tumor and 1 Lymph Node to be removed as they were positive.

In surgery they removed 4 Tumors from the Breast via Lumpectomy and 17 Lymph Nodes and 4 were positive.  So on to Chemotherapy and Radiation.  All is going fine with Chemo and the Medical Oncologist, but the Radiation Oncologist is being very aggressive and suggesting that I remove the Breast to be on the safe side.  My Surgeon has good Margins and feels good.

So what to do take the breast off or Leave it on...... Do I ask for another Opinion?  Any thoughts would be greatly accepted.

Hi Golf girl, I had to jump in here, being I am hole in one.....he he.....

My surgeon & personal Dr. Pushed a lumpectomy. I assumed I would just have the 1 positive node, well I was wrong. 6 bursting open with cancer. But the tumor in the breast was small, 1.1 cm.

Satisitically they say they are the same. I would wait until after chemo is over to make that decision. Have you started chemo? sounds like you have. If so, I would not stop for another surgery.
