Mom recently diagnosed with what appears to be a rare cancer.

Breast cancer in the right breast, squamous tumor in the lymph node. Her KI-67 is 92% HER2 positive Estrogen positive and Progesterone negative. I have been reading up on this and a lot of what we have come across seems very grim. Anything spanning from 2 months to 10 years left of survival.

We have met with the Oncologist and have a meeting with the surgeon on Tuesday. In the mean time she has had an MRI on the brain and is having a full body PET Scan tomorrow (Happy Halloween?)

I'm hoping this sounds familiar to someone and maybe isn't as rare as I've been reading about. Positivity would be appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hi CatieH,

It sounds like you are the husband writing about his wife.  Her diagnosis is not rare from what I've read, but is uncommon.  It sounds like your oncologist is being very thorough.  Let us know what happens with the scan results.

    my best to you,

    Bren
