This whole site has been such a blessing to me as women from
all over the globe pour out their hearts and give thoughtful insight, comfort
and information to encourage and give hope to those going through similar
things. I have been most fortunate so far to be a survivor, but often thought
about those who weren’t and where could they go when hope and encouragement
just wouldn’t cut it anymore. . I don’t advocate any particular religion
although I myself am a believer in the God of the bible. I believe He has lead
me to start this topic to let those who have no hope in this life to know we
have no reason to fear, for God has full control over all that happens. He is
our shelter in the storm. Rest in Him and know He can give strength, wisdom,
grace and mercy for whatever is to come. And there is a life to come that you
have been given the opportunity to prepare for. Allow me to borrow from Dr.
Charles Stanley a list of the Promises of God:

God’s Precious Promises Charles Stanley

2 Peter 1:1-4

As believers, we are spiritually wealthy
because of the exceedingly great promises we have in Jesus, our Savior. Below
are some of the wonderful guarantees we have been given in Scripture.

1.
Our reconciliation to God through the death of Christ

“While we were still helpless, at the right
time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man;
though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God
demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall
be saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we
were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled,
we shall be saved by His life.” —Romans 5:6-10

2.
The daily forgiveness of our sins

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” —1 John 1:9

3.
The Father’s continued presence wherever we go

“The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He
will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be
dismayed.” —Deuteronomy 31:8

4. A
constant Helper through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you
another Helper, that He may be with you forever.” —John 14:16

5.
The Lord’s strength in whatever difficulty we face

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not
anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I
will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10

6.
God’s provision for our daily needs

“Do not be worried about your life, as to what
you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put
on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the
birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet
your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who
of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you
worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not
toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory
clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the
field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He
not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying,
‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for
clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly
Father knows that you need all these things.” —Matthew 6:25-32

7.
An answer to our prayers

“This is the confidence which we have before
Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we
know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests
which we have asked from Him.” —1 John 5:14-15

8.
The Lord’s supply of blessing

“The Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord
gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk
uprightly.” —Psalm 84:11

9.
The Father’s daily help with our burdens.

“Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our
burden, the God who is our salvation.” —Psalm 68:19

10.
God’s comfort in our distress

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in
all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any
affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” —2 Corinthians 1:3-4

11.
A way of escape when we are tempted

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as
is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted
beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of
escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” —1 Corinthians 10:13

12.
Wisdom for every challenge

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of
God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to
him.”—James 1:5

13.
Rest for our weary souls

“Come to Me, all who are weary and
heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” —Matthew 11:28-29

14.
Peace regardless of the troubles we face

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by
prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to
God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6-7

15.
Fruitfulness as we grow older

“The righteous man will flourish like the palm
tree, he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the Lord,
they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit
in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green, to declare that the Lord
is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” —Psalm 92:12-15

16.
The desires of our hearts

“Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will
give you the desires of your heart.” —Psalm 37:4

17.
Help in times of trouble

“God is our refuge and strength, a very
present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should
change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its
waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. ” —Psalm 46:1-3

18.
Guidance along the pathway of life

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way
which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” —Psalm 32:8

19.
Healing for our diseases and wounds

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is
within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none
of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.”
Psalm 103:1-3

20.
The absolute guarantee of God’s love

“I am convinced that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor
powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to
separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” —Romans 8:38-39

21.
Eternal security

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and
they follow Me;and I give eternal life to them, and they will
never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has
given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of
the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” —John 10:27-30

22.
Heaven as our eternal home

“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in
God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it
were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I
go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself,
that where I am, there you may be also.” —John 14:1-3

Thankyou. I needed to read each bible passage tonight. I am fearful of death because I have strayed from God in many ways. Yet in many ways I have been close to Him. My grandma before she passed in 2009 told my mom she said she saw the floor/room in heaven for her and the relatives waiting for her. My mom told me this after I had my uni mx and was out of the hospital. I was filled with terror and shock from the loss of my breast and a bad overnight hospital stay. You see I was in the hospital overnight for my unimx. I listened to a woman in the room one door down from mine that sounded quite well before surgery in preop talking to her surgeon and laughing etc. I then heard her after her and my surgery in the room next to me all night projectile vomiting and suffering terribly. I was on a morphine drip and trying to rest and recover from my own shock and trauma. I was freezing. The nurses could not get me warm. My mom did not stay over night with me. All I could hear was that poor woman. The next morning the PHD told her husband she was not ok and needed palliative than hospice care. Since that experience I have Major Depression and PTSD. I am under psychiatric care. I have two college degrees/ art awards..etc. I am now just withered to a frightened woman that can not go out for more than three hours before I break down and start crying. I cried at the tax preparers Friday. I am simply frightened. My Bc dx caused Depression and PTSD but that experience in the hospital caused my anxiety to triple. I realized I am terrified of death. I am also terrified of life/ living with BC. How do I go on? This is my favorite thread now and I hope others will post. Thankyou so much. I am ready to go to sleep and maybe some day I will not wake up in terror of another day as I have since my BC dx.

Dear Bcky, I am so sorry I am just now getting back to this post as I did not receive any notification that there was even a comment. I hope you are doing better and able to read more of the bible. I believe now that God may have inspired me to post this for you and therefore I also want to add this from a Dr. Youssef : On the cross, Jesus justified us. Jesus not only paid the price for our sin; He cleared us of the guilty charges against us and granted us right standing before God.

Read Galatians 3:27. When we surrender our lives to Christ, we become clothed in the righteousness of Jesus. So every time the Father looks at us, He sees us as righteous because He sees us through the Son. This is why Paul could confidently say, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (Romans 8:1). By faith, we can stand before God, covered in the blood-bought righteousness of Christ. There can be no condemnation because, in Christ, there is nothing to condemn.

Finally, on the cross, Jesus reconciled us to the Father. God tells us that because of our sin, we are at enmity with Him (Romans 5:10). But because of what Jesus did on the cross, that is not the end of the story.

On the cross, Jesus met all of the Father's requirements for righteousness. He broke every barrier that put distance between us and the perfect and holy God, giving us access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). At the cross, Jesus removed all that was between us and God, throwing open the doors of heaven to invite us in. All you have to do is confess you are a sinner, believe and accept what Christ did for you.So you see Bcky once you are right with God you need not fear death. We will always have a certain fear of the unknown but for saved people along with that is the hope of a bright and beautiful future, none like we've ever known. You may have doubts if it isn't true, but you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. And believe me in your heart you will know the truth....keep reading your bible God speaks to us that way. I will see you someday in heaven my friend.

    Four Laws

Just as there are physical laws that govern the physical universe, so are there spiritual laws which govern your relationship with God. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life. "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 NIV). Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life. Man Is Sinful "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Man was created to have fellowship with God; but, because of his stubborn self will, he chose to go his own independent way, and fellowship with God was broken. This self-will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is an evidence of what the Bible calls sin. Man Is Separated "The wages of sin is death" [spiritual separation from God] (Romans 6:23). Man is continually trying to reach God and the abundant life through his own efforts, such as a good life, philosophy, or religion - but he inevitably fails. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life. He Died in Our Place "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). He Is the Only Way to God "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me'(John 14:6). God has bridged the gulf which separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins. It is not enough just to know this, we must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives."As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" (John 1:12) We Receive Christ Through Faith "By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9). We Receive Christ by Personal Invitation [Christ speaking] "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him" (Revelation 3:20). Receiving Christ involves turning to God from self (repentance) and trusting Christ to come into our lives to forgive our sins and to make us what He wants us to be. Just to agree intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for our sins is not enough. Nor is it enough to have an emotional experience. We receive Jesus Christ by faith, as an act of the will. You Can Receive Christ Right Now by Faith through Prayer (Prayer is talking to God) God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. The following is a suggested prayer: "Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
