Double Mastectomy

Hello,

question for you ladies, are you or did you get a double mastectomy? We thought we were going to get one but onc said no need as IBC usually doesnt effect the other breast usually spreads to organs. Would love to hear your opinion.

    I did bi-lateral due to also having idc as well as ibc in breast and for symmetry as well.

    I was told by my Surgeon, Chemo Dr and Rads Dr that a BMX was not called for.  According to them, IBC seldom (if,evsr) will go to the other breast.  There are lot of other 'places'  it likes to metastize to.

    I had a UMX Oct 21, 2009.  Am still (as far as I know know today, 'Tomorrow' - who knows - NO ONE).  'Symmetry' is not hard to achieve with a good prothesis fitter.
