Questions about scar tissue

I have extensive scar tissue on my left prophylatic mx side. I had 4 sugeries on that side in the last year that has led to this scarring, as well as infection issues that probably didn't help.

The scar tissue is hard in some areas hard as a bone and seems to have actually moved up on my chest. Is it common for scar to tissue to be this hard? When I press my hand against the area the skin isn't as tight as it once was, but it still feels sore. When I move around I feel like I have an uncomfortable bra on at all times. Is this common...I don't have TE's in anymore.

At one point 2 of my doctor's wanted to do another biopsy in the area because of the inflammation they saw on a scan. I saw 2 different breast surgeon's in regard to this and the both agreed to take a wait and see apporach. I follow-up on 11/6. I'm just wondering if anyone else has dealt with scar tissue like this. It looks awful and I wonder if I do decide to go ahead with recon how in the hell will they work with it??

Do you have permanent implants??? It sounds like you could be developing capsular contracture. I hope it gets sorted out for you soon.

I have nothing, my TEs were removed due to infection and I haven't done anything since.

Frustrating scenario for you. Certainly your docs would be more qualified than me to find answers. I'm wondering though, since infection is one of the common denominators in cap. contracture developing....maybe even without a current TE/implant, the process of scarring/contracture is still ongoing as your body's response to the trauma???

I do hope you get some answers, and the "fix" is a reasonably doable one for you. Hugs and hope going out to you.
